Four Asake’s Fans Are In Critical Condition After Crush At Brixton Academy Gig.

Asake A Nigerian Afrobeats singer and songwriter released his debut album Known as Mr. Money with the Vibe this year.

Asake whose real name is Ahmed Ololade was nominated for BBC Radio 1’s sound of 2023 awards. Asake is described on the Venue’s website as one of the hottest breakout stars from Nigeria. And is touring his debut album, Mr. Money with the vibe.

Also Born and raised in Lagos state, His songs are part of the Nigerian street pop subgenre that blends Afrobeats with Amapiano, pop melodies, and street-smart rap lyrics.

On Asake’s show, people were injured after a large crowd tried to get into the southern London venue without tickets Lambeth police said.

In this scene, four people are in critical condition after crowd trouble at a concert in southern London. People at the 02 Academy in Brixton were said to have been locked outside the venue in freezing temperatures. But others tried to force them to get inside for the Asake gig.

Therefore this situation leads to the cancellation of the part since the Nigerian singer’s (Asake) fans were uncontrolled. Asake said “The reason we have to stop the show is that they have breached the doors”

Asake added “You have got 3,000 people breaking the doors outside and because of security the police have asked us to close the show

The message met with booing before it continued. “This is nothing to do with us. Some people have breached the door. They have broken in and the security is trying to help with it”

But as elaborated through the website that the venue can hold 4,921 people. The situation leads the London Ambulance Service and London fire brigade to be called to the scene at around 9:30 on Thursday.

Moreover, there were eight people were taken to hospital following the incident. And four of those were in critical condition from injuries sustained by crushing the crowd.

Footage shared on social media sees hundreds of fans trying to make their way through the venue doors and scuffling with security staff.

The police called the incident “Extremely distressing” The police Ade Adelekan said “This is an extremely upsetting incident which has left four people critically in hospital. My thought are with them and their families”

However, “A police investigation has been launched. And will be as thorough and as forensic as necessary to establish exactly what happened last night. Moreover, The scene will be examined by specialist officers”.

However, “CCTV will be viewed and every witness that can make contact with will be spoken to and all other lines of inquiry will be followed”

Even though “Officers are remaining in the area to provide reassurance to the local community in and around Brixton.

Asake made three sold-out shows at the Academy.

It was the third of the three sold-out shows at the Academy by Asake. Before the gid Asake posted on his Twitter account asking fans to not get entry unless they had tickets.

Moreover, Asake posted a message on his Instagram account that reads “My Heart is with those who were injured last night and caused any form of discomfort. I pray you to get well soonest”

Also, Asake added “I’m in the process of reaching out to individuals. I still do not have the full brief from the venue management themselves. As to what led to the disruption at the entrance of the Brixton Academy. But we are thankful that all was peaceful in the end”

However, One woman said about the incident “ I was just Queuing up to give them my ticket. And then the crowd out here was insane. They just came and pushed me and I fell”

At Asake’s incident, there are four people were in critical condition and eight were sent to the hospital.

Additionally, the woman said “I tried to get up. People were stepping on my head, all over me. I had more than 10 people on top of me”

“A man pulled me out so when I woke up I was in the back of the ambulance”.
