The National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA) is a government agency established in 1973 by Act of Parliament No. 21. NECTA is responsible for administering the Tanzania National Examination.
The National Examination Council (NECTA) has announced the removal of the procedure of reporting the best ten (10) schools and candidates for various examination results because of the ineffective procedure.
Moreover, the Secretary of NECTA Athuman Amas speaking in Dar es Salaam today during the announcement of the results said
“We have removed the procedure of announcing the best top ten(10) schools and candidates because it is not productive, We compare people who have done the same examination but in a different environment”
Also, Athuman Amas added “We are used to hearing Top ten (10) languages, I don’t know girls who beat men. Let us get out of the habit. If you discover that you are doing something that is not productive you don’t need to continue with it. You mention someone who has led and compare him to people who didn’t study in the same environments not right”
Finally, Athuman Amas said “If there is a school that you were waiting to be announced in the top ten (10), That is not there. First announcing the first school, we might have been marketing you (Commercial advertising). We have seen it ineffective”
Therefore from now onward, there will be no Top ten best schools for any NECTA results as well as Top Ten best candidates.
